Over the past several months, we have published several updates about the European Union (EU) General Data Privacy Regulation (GDPR). We have implemented a number of measures to further safeguard user privacy and trust, and today, I’m pleased to share another important milestone: Threadloom is now Privacy Shield-certified and on the Privacy Shield List.
You can read more about Privacy Shield on the official website. Here is an excerpt:
The EU-US and Swiss-US Privacy Shield Frameworks were designed by the US Department of Commerce, and the European Commission and Swiss Administration, respectively, to provide companies on both sides of the Atlantic with a mechanism to comply with data protection requirements when transferring personal data from the European Union and Switzerland to the United States in support of transatlantic commerce. On July 12, 2016, the European Commission deemed the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework adequate to enable data transfers under EU law.
We look forward to continuing to build great platforms and tools for forums, and doing so in a manner that continues to respect and safeguard user privacy and trust.
CEO & Co-Founder at Threadloom. Paul’s relationship with forums started when his mother’s employer sent every employee home with a 386 PC, Win. 3.1, and a 2400-baud modem. Since then, he’s been drawn to communities that are motivated by a common desire to help each other. Paul’s personal motivation for working at Threadloom is to bring back mutual respect and personal dignity to the Internet; and he’s excited to work with an incredible team that practices this daily in person.
