Announcing Image Search for Threadloom

Jenna Quindica · Jun 15, 2017

Red Model S.  Baby boots.  Cornet for sale.  What do all of these forum searches have in common? They’re all better when you can search for images alongside posts.  Today, I’m excited to share that Image Search is now available for all Threadloom customers.

You can show or hide details like the image title and date.  You can also click on any image and view an enlarged version in a lightbox, and scroll forward or backward through the images on the page.  And because Image Search is cloud-powered like the rest of Threadloom, there’s no additional load on your server, meaning your visitors will enjoy the same performance as before, and your wallet will enjoy the same heft. 🙂

Threadloom Image Search searches over all crawlable images in your forum.  If an image is roboted or marked noindex, it won’t display in search results.

If you’re already using Threadloom, just install the latest plug-in from the Threadloom Portal (v2.0.6 or later for XenForo, v2.0.8 or later for vBulletin).  Then, in the Portal, go to Search Settings and turn on Image Search.

Just like with its sister feature, Custom Search Tabs, there is no additional charge for Image Search – they’re both included in your plan.  So search on and let us know what you think!

If you haven’t tried Threadloom yet, sign up here.  It’s completely free for smaller forums, and all of our plans for larger forums include a free 30-day trial.
