Ever search for something on a forum and wish you could quickly drill into a specific category? Or see who the top posters are for that particular search and narrow the results instantly to the top three users’ posts? Or easily view all sold or closed items based on a thread prefix?
I’m happy to share that our new filters interface, which went live last week, lets you do all that and more. The latest plug-in update brings several advanced search features into an easy-to-use interface for both desktop and mobile devices. So the next time you need to find that one post that one user wrote that one time, you’ll be able to find it in seconds.
Here’s what’s new:
- Forum visitors can now easily filter search results by forum, user, and date. On XenForo forums, visitors can also filter results by thread prefix.
- Results and counts are updated in real-time as visitors select filters.
- Filters also support type-ahead, offering suggestions for the top values based on your search query.

To get these features for your forum, all you have to do is download and upgrade to the latest version of our vBulletin or XenForo plug-in in the Threadloom Portal.
As always, thanks for the excellent feedback and requests from our growing community of forum owners. We’re looking forward to introducing more new features in the coming months!
